When given the brief for the timed assessment, there were a few problems as i had to fly back to Spain due to family problems, but both myself and Lorna, nonetheless, maintained a great deal of communication between us both. I spoke to my tutor and asked for our weeks to be swapped around, as Lorna was being assessed first, however i did feel bad as my look was not ready, and i felt the need to be assessed first, so Lorna had more time to plan. We both were asking questions throughout this period of time to achieve a full interpretation of each others outcomes.
As mentioned before, with the great deal of communication, Lorna sent me her product lists, fact chart and practice images, which were very clear, detailed and understanding of the look she wanted to go for. I think we both worked well as a team, giving each other both constructive criticism and advice, so that in the future, we can improve on our skills. Lorna is a very organised and to the point when it comes to her work, and i was very lucky to work with her during this assessment.
Heres the makeup i applied following Lorna's Design.

I sent Lorna my face charts, product list and practice images within good time of the assessment, so Lorna could be identified with the look i wanted to achieve. I felt that my face charts were extremely clear and detailed, and this showed in the final images, as lorna presented my look exceptionally well. Lorna worked in a professional manor throughout the 2 hours, and finished my look i had designed within the time given. She followed all the health and safety requirements, and her workplace was spotless. Her makeup application was great, and i felt comfortable during the assessment. However, Lorna needs to learn to calm down and be more relaxed, as at some points, i could see Lorna getting stressed and starting to panic. I feel as if she has learned how to do a high detailed makeup in a short amount of time, and to do it to a high standard, and this has helped her prepare for the future. Both of our team skills have improved greatly.

- Improvements-
As a makeup artist, from this assessment i have learnt that more practice needs to be done beforehand, however from previous mistakes, i have learnt to control myself and keep calm, even if something goes wrong. I would of liked to of practiced using the products specified, as many of Lorna's items were not in my kit.

- Self Reflection-
The timed assessment has definitely helped my time management skills, and also working as a team in this industry. I enjoyed designing, and watching how my partner followed my instructions. It has also opened my eyes to what the real industry is like; having a short amount of time to complete a look, and do it to a high standard. It involves a lot of consideration, as i have had to think about others abilities, and also involves a high amount of preparation, and i think all of this has helped me learn from mistakes, improve on my communication skills and prepare me for the future ahead.
